Feeling stuck in a debate rut? Bored of the monotony of practice rounds? Hoping to get the competitive spirits going without having to go to Saskatchewan? Well now there’s a way.
Over the next three weeks (January 21-February 5) we will be hosting an in house tournament.
Practice debates will take place as per usual, however, ballots will be used by the judges, and scores will be given to each speaker. Each debater needs to debate at least twice, and preferably judge once. Each week, people will be paired up with a different partner, usually novices with experienced debaters.
On February 25, we will hold a final round with the top four debaters, it should be good and entertaining.
You need no experience to participate. So make sure to show up for the next few weeks to get in on a mini-tournament.
